Beach Baptisms

The students who made decisions for Christ during Wednesday night’s service had the opportunity to be involved in a beach baptism Thursday afternoon immediately following rec. Here are some shots of students publicly expressing their newfound faith in Jesus Christ.

Worship was an incredible experience during which five of our students made decisions for Christ. Louie Giglio did an incredible job presenting an honest invitation for students to come alive in the Lord. Afterwards, in our “family time” five more decisions were made. Photos of the baptismal service which occurred this afternoon will be posted tomorrow, but for now enjoy these candid shots from our hangout time after all was said and done Wednesday night.

What a great week we’re having! Join the Remedy team in praying for all 6,200 students in Daytona this week. It’s a humbling thought to think that we represent 1% of the students here who’ve come to encounter the Lord. How encouraging that He is jealous for me, you, and each one of us here. Pray that our students encounter the Lord in a new way; pray that revelation occurs.

Day two was great for all of our students as we had the opportunity to finally get out on the beach for a little organized recreation. Below are some of the photos from our time together. You can click here for a bigger version of the slideshow.

Last night was the first night of worship at student life camp. The theme was RESPOND. Chris Tomlin brought an awesome time of worship and Louie Giglio posed the challenge – you can’t respond to anything that hasn’t been revealed to you. WE HAVE ARRIVED!

We have arrived in Daytona. The bus is unloaded, the group is checked into the hotel, and the 9th grade boys have even unloaded their secret stash into the fridge in their room at the Daytona Regency. We’re off to a great start here at camp 2010!

Busch Gardens

The school year has come to a close, there are no more tests for which you must study, no more teachers to whom you must grovel, and no more class for which you must wake up at the crack of dawn! Remedy would like to celebrate this momentous occasion with a little roller coaster riding, animal petting, and slurping drinking action this Friday at Busch Gardens in Tampa!

Tonight is the last night to sign up to go with the Student ministry to Busch Gardens on Friday 6/11! Cost to attend is $67, which includes an annual pass, one meal voucher, and transportation. If you have an annual pass already, the cost is free!

Yup, today IS my birthday. Thanks for remembering!! I’m sure you’re ready for school to be over and for summer to begin. We have jam packed summer of fun planned this year. We’ve got Busch Gardens, Cranor’s Crib, Vittles, Mitchell’s, VBS, Daytona Beach Camp, C3, Dune Days, Paintball, and much more. It’s going to be a great summer so make sure to invite your friends and come join us. See you soon!

White Collar Sideshow

This Saturday we are attending the White Collar Sideshow at Trinity Life Church down Memorial Blvd. We want to support this fellow church and use this opportunity to give the Gospel to those students that wouldn’t normally come to a church. We also have Sak Comedy Lab on Friday May 14th. You will not want to miss this road trip to Orlando because we are going to laugh our heads off. I, Josh Cranor, am also getting into High Schools now so if you want me to eat lunch with you or visit you at school let me know!

SWERVE

We had an awesome time of serving the community at SWERVE during Spring Break. We hope you had a safe and enjoyable time off from school. Coming up this month we have our deadline to sign up for Daytona Beach Camp on Sunday April 11th. For all you ladies we have the Illuminate High School Girls lock in on the 23rd and 24th at the church. This will be an great time to come hang out and have some fun.
